rose plastic launches sustainable project with Würth

Source: Würth

rose plastic has been developing and producing plastic packaging for a wide range of industries for over six decades. When it comes to sustainability, we focus on recycled material, among other things. In cooperation with our customer Würth, we show that recyclable packaging solutions are feasible.

For us as a family business, sustainability and environmentally conscious actions are directly related to our corporate values. The same applies to Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG. As a long-standing customer, the specialist for assembly and fastening materials packs its products in rose plastic packaging solutions, among other things.

But it is not only the values that connect the two companies. Founded as small one-man businesses, both grew into market leaders over the years. The perfect conditions to start a sustainable project together with the packaging solutions made of recycled materials.

Cherry-picking? Not desired

The line that both rose plastic and Würth are taking is clear. "We have the honest ambition to make a difference," says Thorsten Kircher, Head of Sales and Marketing at rose plastic. That's why everything that's in the "yellow bag" (sack for the collection of recyclable packaging material) is also taken out of it. “We don't cherry-pick," confirms Kircher. For this, they are happy to accept that the packaging is gray or has a slightly perceptible odor. All this rather shows that sustainability is really in the foreground, says Kircher. In terms of functionality, the PCR (Post Consumer Recycled) packaging is no different from those made from conventional materials.

At Würth, rose plastic's concept is meeting with open ears. Because here, too, the company is always looking for new ways to work sustainably while at the same time relying on its corporate values. Being able to offer customers its products in PCR packaging from rose plastic fits like a piece of the puzzle in the company's sustainability concept. At Würth, the focus is also on honest packaging solutions. Even the labels, which carry important information about the product, are made of 100 percent recycled plastic and are applied with ecologically safe adhesive. This even made it possible to have the new packaging certified according to Cradle to Cradle.
